Transportation Department passes annual CHP inspection

CCN

The City’s Transportation Department passed the Annual CHP Inspection for the 26th consecutive Year.

The Transportation Department has successfully completed the annual California Highway Patrol (CHP) Technical Transit Bus Inspection and Drug and Alcohol Program Compliance Review. This rigorous inspection program is required for any commercial vehicle longer than 26 feet or any commercial vehicle with three or more axles, and it is comprised of several steps including random physical inspections, administrative audits, and the review of the Department’s federally required drug and alcohol testing records.

The physical inspections yielded no problems with the City’s transit fleet. Additionally, the Department’s maintenance records, vehicle operator reports, training proficiency records, operator time sheets, and service hours were carefully reviewed and found to be in compliance with state standards. This is the 26th consecutive year the Transportation Department has passed the inspection.
