The Culver City Police Department announced Monday, June 21 that a murder charge has been filed in connection with the 2009 death of the man overseeing the construction of Culver City Fire Station 3.
Myron Deshun Grant, 25, has been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office in the Jan. 3, 2009 death of Paul Bilodeau. The charges, filed Thursday, June 17, include homicide with special circumstances (murder in the commission of a robbery), making it a potential death penalty case.
Bilodeau, 45, was found shot to death at the Fire Station 3 construction site in Fox Hills. He was the project manager.
According to a CCPD press release, Grant is a known gang member who has been in custody since February on an unrelated felony narcotics charge. He has previous convictions for sales of narcotics, burglary and possession of a dangerous weapon, all felonies.
Grant was originally scheduled to be arraigned Monday, June 21. However, the arraignment has been continued until July 8. He is being held without bail at the Twin Towers Correctional Facility in Los Angeles.
“Really, the police have given out all the information that we would be able to give out,” said Jane Robison, a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. “Until the preliminary hearing we don’t get into the specific evidence and facts of the case.”
Culver City Police Department spokesman Lt. Milton McKinnon was unavailable for additional comment regarding the case.
