Sister City Committee pairs wine with auction | Thu, Oct 21 2010 12:07 PM

The Culver City Sister City Committee, Inc. held an afternoon of wine tasting with food pairings at the Radisson Hotel. Champagne was paired with strawberries and brie, chardonnay was matched with quesadillas, Sauvignon blanc with crab cakes, pinot noir with a spinach pastry and merlot met its mate in a beef Wellington pastry.

Local businesses and charitable residents donated a variety of items, which attendees bid on during a silent auction, followed by a live auction. Others won prizes in a raffle. The evening’s sommelier, Michael Fate, provided the crowd with “Tales From The Wine Bibber’s Bible” and offered helpful information about all things wine.

The second annual “People-To-People” event fostered international cultural exchanges with Culver City’s Sister Cities in Japan, South Korea, Canada and Mexico.
