CCEF and Friends Made Quite a Difference in 2013/2014

During the 2013-2014 school year, the Culver City Education Foundation funded $351,800 worth of projects, programs and equipment in the Culver City Unified schools. CCEF worked hard to provide this level of additional support for the district’s students and schools, but the Foundation’s work cannot be done alone. Support like this is only possible when CCEF’s efforts are joined by foundations, businesses and individuals who believe, as it does, in the fundamental importance of education, and in the unimaginable potential of Culver City students.

By visiting the link below one can see the impact that this funding has had in the city’s schools and the difference it has made in the lives of the students. For those who were a CCEF contributor last year, they can review the list with pride knowing that they helped make all of this possible. Those who weren’t part of the effort last year, are asked to please join CCEF now.

Future contributions will enable CCEF to do even more in 2014/2015 and in the years to come. Persons interested can visit CCEF’s website: www.ccef90230.org/donate and join the effort today. Freeport McMoran Donation

For the third year in a row, Freeport-McMoran Oil & Gas has generously donated $20,000 to support Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in Culver City’s schools. This year, its gift will buy 20 Dell laptops and a cart for the Culver City High School Science Department, allowing students routine access to computers in their classrooms, and enabling teachers to better implement inquirybased lessons.

CCEF extends its sincere thanks to Freeport- McMoran Oil & Gas for their continuing support of STEM education in our Culver City schools.

Akasha Donation

Akasha Restaurant has just donated $2,780 for our schools, the most recent proceeds from the ongoing Akasha Sunday Brunch program. Akasha serves brunch every Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and if patrons mention the Culver City Education Foundation (CCEF) when you making a reservation, or tell the hostess when walking in that one is supporting CCEF (or show them this announcement from a smart phone), Akasha Restaurant will donate 10 percent of the total check to CCEF. What a delicious way to support our students and our schools!

Many thanks to Akasha for its ongoing commitment to CCUSD students and schools!
