Jefferson Boulevard to receive crosswalk

The Jefferson Boulevard Project is in the final stages. The sidewalks, curb extensions, raised landscaped medians, and parking lot improvements near the intersection of Jefferson Boulevard and Hetzler Road are complete.

The existing striping on Jefferson Boulevard from Duquesne Avenue to Holdrege Avenue will be removed and replaced with temporary striping.

The permanent striping and a full traffic signal at Jefferson Boulevard and Hetzler Road will be installed the following week.

The new striping will include bike lanes as well as high visibility crosswalks—good news for hikers that use the stairs at the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook.

These improvements are expected to greatly enhance the comfort, accessibility, and attractiveness of this area.

This project is funded by a grant from the Baldwin Hills Conservancy’s Proposition 84 Grant Program along with City matching funds.
