Heated argument leads to second fatality

 

The man killed in a shooting in the Del Rey area of West Los Angeles on Sunday, Sept. 3, was Roberto Saucedo , 67, of Culver City.

A middle-aged woman was wounded in the same shooting.

According to Patch.com, LAPD’s Detective Meghan Aguilar told them that that officers were summoned at 6:20 p.m. on that Sunday to the11800 block of Wagner Street.

“The man now identified as Saucedo was pronounced dead at the scene and a middle-aged woman was taken to a hospital in serious condition, Aguilar said.”

The shooter fled the scene, and on Tuesday, Sept. 5, The Daily Breeze reported that he had been arrested.

Roberto Saucedo, who was a city employee, was killed by his son, Juan Saucedo, after a heated argument.

As he fled, Juan Saucedo killed another man, Jesus Estevez Martinez, 27, of Los Angeles, while stealing his car.

Deputy Kelvin Moody of the Sherriff’s Information Bureau, “The motive and relationship, if any, between the victims and the suspect is unknown at this time,”

No other suspects are being sought.
