Gunman sought at West LA College | Thu, Oct 13 2011 12:55 PM

Sheriff’s deputies at West Los Angeles College received a report of an intruder armed with a gun in a parking structure just after noon last Thursday.

Deputies responded immediately to the South Parking Structure and closed traffic in and out of the building. Helicopters hovered above the campus, alarming many residents in the surrounding neighborhoods. Students and faculty were kept out of the area while the structure was searched. A campus alert was sent to all offices.

By 1:20 p.m., the parking structure was thoroughly searched and no evidence of an intruder or firearm was found. No one was injured and no arrests were made.
