Fire department participates in community events

Culver City’s Fire Department continues to provide the community with support and public education.

Members of the CCFD and Brotman Hospital recently participated in the Countywide Sidewalk CPR event. Members of the community were given instruction on Hands-Only CPR using mannequins provided by the department.

Effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival. During the event, 38 people to receive instructions.

The department was also invited by members of State Senator Price’s office to take part in Youth Safety and Resource Fair. The Fire Department distributed age appropriate information on fire safety and answered questions about the importance of fire safety.

The Culver City Fire Department, founded in 1922, is one of only nine fire departments in the United States to be certified Class 1 and Accredited. The 62-member department takes pride in providing its residents, businesses and the community with Paramedic Advance Life Support Services, Fire Suppression, Fire Prevention and Education programs.

Station tours are offered upon request to schools and organizations within the City and the Culver City School District. Tours may be scheduled every Friday, except for the first Friday of each month.
