Farragut Elementary School’s eagerly an anticipated 9th Annual Fall Festival will take place on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the athletic field just off the main parking lot behind the school.
“This is a fabulous community event that we look forward to every year,” said Principal Rebecca Lynch.
All families are invited to come and enjoy a day of Halloween fun and take advantage of discounted pre-sales tickets available before and after school by the Farragut front main doors from Oct. 13-17. 25 tickets are priced at $20 and an all-day pass for inflatables is available for $10.
Tickets can also be bought on the day of the Festival for $1 each and the all-day inflatable pass is available for $12. Entry to the festival and parking are free.
The Festival includes huge climb and slide inflatables, 20 game booths, a jail house, two Haunted Houses, great food, a Harvest Boo-tique and entertainment by the Culver City High School Marching band and much more. There is also a chili cook off with a celebrity chef judging panel including: Tubs Chili; our Culver City Mayor; a Culver City firefighter and more.
Some of the most exciting attractions are two haunted houses put together by parents who moonlight in the movie biz. Many studio props are being used to create two levels of “terror” and one “not scary” level for the under 5-year-old set and one “Really Scary” level for the older kids.
A jail house is center stage for attendees to “jail” a teacher, parent or friend. Three large inflatables that kids of all ages will love, a caterpillar crawler, rock climber, and a 5-in-1 Twister Combo.
More than 20 booths are featured where children can participate in carnival-like games and craft booths and each is sponsored by individual classrooms.
The day will continue to be filled with exciting music acts from our hottest local kid bands… Rockfish, The 335’s and YouTube sensation Mama Bares!
Always a favorite with the community is the chili cook-off contest. The competition is great and the end result is even better! Entries are available for sale after Culver City’s own celebrity chef judging panel select the winners. Come taste delicious chili to see how talented the Farragut families’ chefs really are!
Fabulous food includes delicious authentic Mexican food, pizza as well as a hot dog extravaganza, all of which will be sold at great prices. And if that isn’t enough, people can always fill up on popcorn or eat a cricket if they dare.
A Harvest Craft Boo-tique will include beautiful hand-crafted jewelry, ceramics, art prints, knit items, paper art, and a variety of other home decorative and seasonal gift items.
“Farragut is so proud of all the hard work that goes into this event,” said event organizer Christie Ferreria, who expressed her excitement about Farragut families and the community gathering. “It’s one our school looks forward to every year.”
