The Expo line is on the fast track after a groundbreaking ceremony held in Santa Monica on Sept. 12. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and other dignitaries attended the event.

         Villaraigosa called the extension a major milestone because of the “10,000 jobs that will be created just with this phase alone."

         Metro officials estimate that the 6.6-mile extension from Culver City to Santa Monica will be completed in 2015.
