The California YMCA Youth and Government Board announced Keenan & Associates’ Marketing Communications Vice President Tim Crawford as its newest member.

Crawford has been working closely with the YMCA since last February and is a member at his local Culver-Palms location. Keenan & Associates, the largest private insurance broker in the state, offers financial support to the YMCA program, mentors students in its local offices and brings students to Sacramento to attend its annual governing summit meeting.

On the students’ trip for the annual Model Legislature, participants have a realistic opportunity to take responsibility for the halls, chambers and offices of the State Capitol, Supreme Court and Governor’s Office. The Youth and Government programs are designed to encourage young people’s involvement in government.

“Working with the young people who are involved in this program is a real privilege,” said Crawford. “Youth and Government gives students the opportunity to experience democracy in action and leads them towards becoming outstanding citizens.”

Not only is Crawford grateful to be aboard, but YMCA executive Steve Willmont is eager to welcome him. “Tim has shown his commitment to this program, just as Keenan has,” said Willmont.  “We couldn’t imagine a better fit for our board.”
