Culver City PTAs Enthusiastically Support Measure CC

CCN

The Culver City Council of PTAs and all seven Culver City school site PTAs enthusiastically support Measure CC, the school facilities bond measure that will be on the June 3 ballot.

Culver City PTA officers and members are present and active at every CCUSD elementary school as well as our middle and high schools. We see the physical facilities needs at these sites every day. We know the need for modernizing science labs, upgrading school plumbing and electrical systems, replacing outmoded heating, air conditioning and ventilation equipment, installing air-filtration systems, repairing loose or missing ceiling tiles, and updating the Robert Frost Auditorium. We want a permanent home for our Culver Park students. We don’t want another principal to have to sweep water out of a cafetorium before an assembly because a leaky roof caused it to flood in a rainstorm. Culver City PTAs want our students and teachers to have schools that are safe, healthy, inspiring places to learn and work.

Of course, we could also emphasize the importance of investing in school facilities that will enhance and foster educational excellence in terms of the high property values, safe neighborhoods, strong business climate and thriving local economy that are dependent on exceptional public schools, but as PTA, our focus is on our children and our responsibility to educate them so that they can realize their potential and become thoughtful, productive members of society.

In Supporting Measure CC, Culver City PTAs join the Culver City Chamber of Commerce, the CCUSD Board of Education, the Culver City City Council, the Culver City Education Foundation, the Culver City Federation of Teachers, the Association of Classified Employees—Culver City, and many other members of our community who are committed to providing our students and teachers with safe, healthy facilities that support and enhance learning.

Please join us by voting for the Culver City school facilities bond, Measure CC on the June 3 ballot.
