Culver City construction firm wins award Scott Bridges | Thu, Jul 15 2010 12:52 PM

H.A.S. Construction, a Culver City general contracting firm established in 1958, was one of 87 companies to win an award at the 17th Annual Chrysalis Awards for Remodeling Excellence.

The winning projects were selected from over 475 entries, which were judged on overall design, creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure. The awards were announced in the June issue of Qualified Remodeler magazine.

H.A.S. was one of three companies awarded in the commercial remodel category for its renovation of a historic Mid-Century modern office building at 4250 Wilshire Blvd. in Hancock Park, which is home to a prominent accounting firm.

“This was the first year they have entered the awards, and to take home top honors on the first attempt is impressive,” said Ken Kanline, director of the Awards.

The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in 15 general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. The Awards are open to any professional remodeler or design professional in the United States.
