Crime Blotter; Dec. 6-11

Car burglary:

A woman called the police department on Dec. 6 to report that her 2003 Toyota had been burglarized. The victim parked her car in the 6000 block of Hannum Avenue at 6:30 p.m. and discovered her doors unlocked and property missing at 7 p.m.

Commercial burglary:

On Dec. 7, a man told the police that his business had been broken into. The building was locked and secured the day before at 8 p.m., and at 6:50 a.m. the next day the alarm company called to say that the alarm had been activated. Officers arrived and discovered the front door had damage but the suspects did not take any property.

Car burglary:

A woman’s 2009 Cadillac was burglarized between 12:15 p.m. and 12:25 p.m. on Dec. 12. The victim said she parked and locked her car in the 6200 block of Bristol , and when she returned she discovered her driver side slot was damaged and her property missing.

Street robbery:

A woman walking north on Cota Street from Jefferson Boulevard was accosted by a black male in his 20s with a handgun on Dec. 9. He demanded her handbag, which she gave him. He then fled to a vehicle where two other suspects were waiting.

Stolen property:

On Dec. 10 at 11:50 a.m., a victim called the police department to report his laptop computer missing. The victim said he locked and secured his hotel room and left his computer in the room. When he returned his computer was missing. The hotel is located in the 5900 block of Green Valley Circle.
