Loren Petersen celebrates his 50th year singing in Grace Lutheran’s Chancel Choir this year.  He has sung with the California Philharmonic Chorale and recently sang in the Beethoven Ninth Symphony Choral Movement at the Walt Disney Concert Hall and Los Angeles Arboretum for audiences of more than 5,000 people. He has been a long-time member of the Camerata of Los Angeles.

Petersen began singing in the choir at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Johnson, Neb. at the age of 13. After graduating from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, he moved to Los Angeles in 1956 and sang at Trinity Lutheran Church in Norwalk before joining Grace Lutheran in 1960.
