Centennial fashion show this Sunday

2017’s first event of the city’s nearly year-long centennial celebration, Culver City residents can take a visual trip down memory lane of the fashions founder Harry Culver’s era up to the present on the day that organizers say is coincidentally Culver’s birthday.

The Culver Hotel will host “100 Years of Fashion… and Music” on Jun. 22 from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. The Culver City Centennial l Committee and the Culver City Council PTA are organizing the fashion and music show.

Music and fashion from the last 10 decades will be played and on display and bidding on “experiences” with some of Culver City’s elected officials will be part of a live action.

In addition, the event will serve as a fundraiser for Backpacks for Kids, an initiative sponsored by the Culver City Unified School District. Through Backpacks for Kids, school district officials give over 100 backpacks with food to needy students every Friday who don’t have enough food to last them through the weekend. According to CCUSD, the program currently serves over 120 families a week.

Tickets for the event can be purchased at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/culver-city-centennial-committee-council-pta-present-100-years-of-fashion-tickets-30240755915

The Culver Hotel is at 9400 Culver Blvd. in downtown Culver City.
