Boys’ basketball swings into the Ocean league on a high note

The boys’ varsity basketball team, fresh off a thrilling 96-90 win last Friday over North Torrance on the road, will travel to El Segundo to play the Eagles this Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Centaurs, who were 9-6 at press time, will continue to stay on the road when they go to Pioneer high school to battle Chino in a Martin Luther King Tournament game at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.  They will continue their road trip on Wednesday when they play Santa Monica at 7:30 p.m.

Their victory over North Torrance surprised a lot of people.  “We have been getting better and better as the season has progressed,” said Centaur head coach Adam Eskridge. “We are learning to how to manage the clock, play hard defense in the right situations and we are making good decisions. We are really playing well and I am proud of this team.”

The Ocean league is really tough from top to bottom this year so the Centaurs will need to bring their A game every time they step on the court.  The Centaurs who are playing well right now are Isaiah Benson, Myles Elrington, Kyle Johnson, Isaiah Njoku  and Anthony Wheatle.
