The Salvation Army is encouraging consumers to consider donating used clothing to help fund the nonprofit’s community work. A clothing donation is a convenient way to recycle unwanted clothes and receive a tax deduction for minimal effort. The Salvation Army will pick the clothes from the doorstep.
All donated clothes are repaired as needed and cleaned. Gently worn clothes will be sold at Salvation Army thrift stores throughout southern California. All proceeds from the thrift stores fund Adult Rehabilitation Centers, where people with addiction and major social problems are able to get a fresh start on their lives.
Call 800-SA-TRUCK (800-728-7825) for pickup or take clothes to the nearest drop-off location, which can be found at salvationarmy.org/socal.
