Culver City Music Fest to heat up in July

Summer breezes… an intimate courtyard… free parking… and great music. Escape to Culver City for the 2015 Culver City’s Boulevard Music Summer Festival. Boulevard Music presents six free concerts on Thursday evenings at 7 p.m. from July 9 to Aug. 13 in the palm-lined courtyard of Culver City City Hall.

Curated by producer Gary Mandell of Culver City’s Boulevard Music, Culver City’s Boulevard Music Summer Festival offers something for everyone.

Highlights are: Latin and Flamenco rhythms with pop/rock/funk and electronic elements from Calé plus salsa, cumbia, and Latin jazz from Conganas (July 9); Classic Jazz/Blues with a superb trio of vocalists fronting the George Kahn Jazz & Blues Revue plus the look and feel of classic ‘60s Motown/Soul from Stone Soul (July 16); Elements of Celtic music, country (western and swing, too), blues, Cajun, Baroque, rock and roll and more from Hot Lips & Fingertips (July 23); Hot Jazz and Western Swing from the Hot Club of Cowtown (July 30); Classic Rock with incredible vocals from Venice (Aug. 6); and Zydeco music featuring the sounds of Creole from Louisiana and Texas from Bonne Musique Zydeco (Aug. 13).

Avoid the crowds and parking hassles of other areas on the Westside. Parking is free for two hours in designated structures in downtown Culver City, and dozens of dining options are available within walking distance.

Culver City’s downtown area is Southern California’s best-kept secret, featuring a wonderful mix of historic buildings, boutiques, theaters, galleries, and unique restaurants opening onto tree-lined streets.

Culver City’s Boulevard Music Festival is sponsored by The City of Culver City, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Boulevard Music, John Riordan Plumbing, Culver City Volvo & Mazda, Bunnin Chevrolet, Palm Court, LYFE Kitchen, Cavanaugh Realty, PS 310, Michael Kayem Remax, DE Associates, Music Munchers; Culver Hotel, Dynagraphics, Ernie Ball, Culver City News, Culver City Observer, Steeldeck, Inc. and more to be confirmed soon as sponsorships are still available.
