Local man arrested, charged with rape

A Culver City man has been arrested on charges of raping a Mar Vista teenager who had been missing from her home for nearly three weeks.

According to wire service City News Service, Samuel Robert Duran was booked on multiple counts of rape on April 13.

Police found Kimberly Greenberg, who is autistic, in Culver City on April 13 after she was reported missing by her mother. She had last been on March 24 in the 11200 block of Westminster Avenue in Venice.

A  National Center for Missing and Exploited Children flier recently stated that Greenberg could have been in the company of an adult male prior to police locating her.

“At this time, detectives are still investigating the circumstances of how Duran and the victim met,” said Los Angeles Police Department officials in a statement.

Duran is being held on $8 million bail.
