Heberling and Willis’ “Innovative Theatres” really are innovative

You know that saying, “If I were a fly on the wall?” Try being an entire acoustic system hidden within a wall. Innovative Theatres, headed up by interior designer, painter, engineer, and artists, Jon H. Heberling and Keith G. Willis are a step ahead of their peers and even themselves in some cases.

Innovative consults with clients and advises them of their ultra-theater design plan. Afterwards, with acute insight, they build strategic and state of the arts home and commercial sound systems. The talent and advanced engineering and technical skills, make Innovative Theatres sought after the world over. With a humble donation by music industry legend David Geffen, the hip and elegant acoustic design architectural firm sits on WEHO property at 7414 Santa Monica Blvd. Geffen’s donation completely helped to renovate the building’s now theatres, which house highly advanced technically engineered product and a host of clever, next level design and acoustic art sound systems.

The surreal acoustics emit from behind the walls, and project outward to the listener. The sound panels hang on the wall like paintings. This type of built in meshed sound offers the ear, a private and surreal experience. The dynamic design duo has made valuable and productive use of their talents. I guess that you could say that they are, “the bestus.”

Partners in all things design, the two gents met 20 years ago when Heberling was an interior design architect for Palos Verdes based homes. Willis was Jon’s integration specialist. At that time Innovative merged their diverse talent and Audio Visual integration made its way into American homes. The two ultimately called their back then, techy, and well-engineered creations: Innovative Theatres.

The firm builds from start to finish custom design home theatres, but extends its talent for use at commercial interiors as well. The process is as intimate as any well-planned dinner date. From fabrication, to installation and design, Innovative Theatres and their selected group of technical specialist, stay with the customer every step of the way, until that specific custom-made theater is complete.

The dynamics of lighting specs and specific measurements mesh the customer’s desire, and the Innovative teams design, into a complete and synergized harmony for individual living spaces.

Fascinating indeed are the soft and delicate intricacies of the wall-to wall, acoustic hidden paneled, sound system.

Imagine walking into your home, hitting a switch, light lowered, and pure, raw, unfettered piped-in sound finds its way to your ears. The specialized seating set to the customer’s taste, and able to seat at least 14-16 people, is a rare treat for friends, families and specified to very specific or general entertainment taste.
