Anything you do on a regular basis, any kind of habit or pattern, affects you on every level. Take any of these and make them a regular practice, and your level of well being will keep on improving.
Take care of your body- Things like eating well, getting enough sleep, drinking water, can all make you feel much better.
Pay attention to what you love- Anything we are good at is something we love to do, and the more often you do it, the better you get. Swimming, reading, knitting, singing, if you love to do it, do more.
Count your blessings- Taking a moment to really be grateful and thankful for the thousands of little pleasures in your life inevitably causes them to multiply.
Create healthy strategies- If you are having a hard time, talk yourself into a yoga class rather than a donut binge. Coping with stress by doing things that cause more stress (sugar headache, tooth decay, weight gain, guilt) is a bad strategy. Deep breathing and stretching (muscle relief, blood pressure drop, reduced cardiac level) is a good one.
Forgive- When you are angry with someone, they get to live in your head rent-free and continue tormenting you, all at no cost to them, as they are not suffering over your anger. Let it go, and move on with your life. The longer you’ve been angry, the better it will feel to release it.
Commit yourself – When you have a goal in mind, you have a reason to work toward it every day. If it’s just for yourself, or to make the world a better place, or just make someone you love happy, keep moving yourself toward your goal, and obstacles will fall away.
Practice kindness – It’s one of the easiest things to do to make yourself and everyone around you feel better. You make the world a better place in the bargain.
